At the Johnson Tree Company...
We have the knowledge, people, and equipment to get it done right!
the Johnson Tree Company shall provide the Black Hills and surrounding 4-state region with unmatched tree service and sales quality in the line of tree maintenance, tree-care consultation, tree transplanting, tree installation, and tree removal. We pride ourselves on the artistry of our pruning and trimming skills. Founded and based out of Rapid City, South Dakota and proudly serving South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, and Wyoming since 1980.
We are a Certified ISA & ASCA Arborist and have 41 years experience! We are the oldest tree services company in South Dakota. As a family owned business, we’ve been an integral part of the Black Hills community ever since our inception in Rapid City in 1980. If you want to know just how reliable our service is, just ask your neighbor!
Our services include:
Tree Sales
Many of the trees we sell are from our own tree farm. Sometimes, however, we are unable to overwinter certain species, so we try to purchase anticipated trees in bulk every spring. Also at times we purchase small trees from a local nursery. Regardless of the source, JTC can usually obtain any species of tree you wish.
Tree Moving
The Johnson Tree Company (JTC) owns and operates the largest tree-moving machine in South Dakota and the surrounding 4-state region. We can transplant any tree to your front yard — and we offer the best warranty in the business.
Tree Pruning
Landscape trees require a higher level of care than do their forest counterparts. A professionally maintained yard tree is both safe and attractive. You can protect your investment in your trees by hiring a ISA certified arborist from the Johnson Tree Company (JTC) who understands your tree’s response to pruning.
Professional Services
If you are looking for a trial-experienced expert witness or consultant, with technical and practical arboricultural knowledge, contact David L. Johnson. Dave Johnson is South Dakota’s only Registered Consulting Arborist, RCA #459, and he is the only arborist in the state with an active membership in ASCA.
